In recent years, the amount of cargo transportation by vessels has increased steadily year by year, and the new ports for loading and unloading have been established even at unprecedented places.
In the meantime, the size of the vessels has been remarkably enlarged and it had become very difficult to proceed on only customary lanes at sea in various parts of the world, due to either lack of depth or increment of marine traffic density. Therefore it is absolutely necessary for the nautical route in order to replace the old ones, to establish the fairway separation scheme and to reevaluate the traffic regulations.
