MANIFOLDS FOR REFRIGERATED
LIQUEFIED NATURAL GAS CARRIER(LNG)
These recommendations are promulgated to introduce conformity in manifold arrangements of Liquefied Natural Gas Carriers (LNG) in order to promote improved efficiency in operation and assist in planning the position of loading and discharging facilities on new jetties.
The specification has been prepared by drawing on the experience of LNG ship operators, berth design specialists, naval architects, ship constructors and equipments manufacturers. It is intended to serve as a guideline to LNG ship owners and builders and to those planning jetty design. It is not implied that existing vessels should be altered.
It is intended that these recommendations apply only to dedicated LNG carriers with midship manifold arrangements. Where vessels are designed for one or more grades of LPG as well as LNG, or where cargo transfer manifolds are in locations other than within the midships area, special arrangements will be necessary which are outside the scope of this document.
