POCKET GUIDE TO RECOVERY TECHNIQUES
SOLAS regulation III/17-1, Recovery of persons from the water, requires all ships on international voyages to have ship-specific plans and procedures for recovery of persons from the water, taking into account guidelines developed by the International Maritime Organization(IMO) and identifying the equipment intended to be used for recovery purposes, and measures to be taken to minimize the risk to shipboard and measures to be taken to minimize the risk to shipboard personnel. The regulation entered into force on 1 July 2014.
